How to Grant Permissions to a Departmental Mailbox in Outlook

Issue/Question

I want to grant someone permissions to a departmental mailbox in Outlook.

Environment

  • MCC owned Computer
  • Windows
  • Outlook

Resolution

  • Right-click on the email address name on the left-hand side of Outlook.

 Note: In order for the person to see the mailbox the owner will need to share out the top level of the mailbox (where it says the email address) and each folder that the person should have access to. 

  • Select Data File Properties from the drop-down menu.

  • Click on the Permissions tab
  • Select the permission level that you want to grant from the drop-down
  • Click Add and select the person that you want to grant access to
  • Click Ok
