Issue/Question
How do I manage my YubiKey? Such as resetting the pin or resetting the key back to default.
Environment
- YubiKey
- YubiKey Manager
- MFA
Resolution

- You will receive a popup to start the setup of the software. Select Next.

- Leave the file location as the default location. Select Next.

- Leave the Start Menu location as the default location. Select Install.

- Uncheck the option Run YubiKey Manager. You need to run the software as an administrator and this option will not run it as the administrator.
- Select Finish.

Search for YubiKey manager.

Click Run as administrator on the right side or right click on the YubiKey Manager box and select Run as administrator.


- Select FIDO2 from the application menu

- Select an Option - FIDO2 PIN or Reset.
- FIDO2 Pin - Will reset the pin. You must know the old pin in order to reset to a new one.
- Reset Device - This will restore the device back to the default settings. It will no longer be associated with any accounts.

Reset Pin Option
- Select Change Pin.
- Enter your current pin and enter a new pin twice. Must be at least 6 characters long.
- Select Change Pin.

You will receive a confirmation message at the bottom of the YubiKey manager software.

Reset Device to Defaults
- Select Reset FIDO
- Confirm you want to reset the device by selecting YES.

- You will need to remove and re-insert your YubiKey.

- Touch your YubiKey on the circle where it lights up.

You will receive a confirmation message at the bottom of the YubiKey manager software.
