View Teams Availability Status in Outlook

Issue/Question

I cannot see the Teams availability of someone in Outlook.

Environment

• Teams
• Outlook

Resolution

• In Teams, select the ellipsis (3 horizontal dots).
• Select Settings.

• Under the General menu, check off Register Teams as the chat app for Office (requires restarting Office applications).
• Restart your Office applications. 

 Note: If the option was already checked and you still do not see statuses in Office applications, uncheck the box Register Teams as the chat app for Office and restart teams and all Office applications. Then go back into Teams check the box Register Teams as the chat app for Office and then restart Teams and Office applications once again.
