How to Change your Password Through Microsoft My Account Information

Issue/Question

How do I change my password? You would use this method of changing your password if you know your old password and just want to change it. 

Environment

• Network Account
• Microsoft Account

Resolution

• Navigate to your Microsoft My Account page. 
• Enter your Macomb email address.
• Click Next.

• Enter your password.
• Click Sign in. 

• Approve through the MFA process. 

 Note: You may not use the authenticator app as your main verification method for MFA. Use which method you set as default to authorize the login. 

• Click No on staying signed in.

• You will then be brought to your My Account page. Click on CHANGE PASSWORD.

• You will be prompted to enter your password in the Old password box and enter your new password in the Create new password and Confirm new password boxes. Make sure that both Create new password and Confirm new password have the same password.
• Click Submit.

• Your password has been changed. It will bring you back to your profile page.
