Resolution

If you encounter a situation where the mouse does not move properly from the built-in iMac screen to the external display, follow these instructions to fix that issue.

Fortunately, it’s simple to set this yourself, and once you’ve set it on a computer it will retain this setting every subsequent time you log in.

To arrange the monitors:

  • Open the System Settings and select Displays from the list of options on the left.macOS System Settings > Displays

  • Click on the Arrange… button located just to the left of the images of the monitors.
  • In the Arrange Displays window, click on the external monitor and drag it to the correct side of the iMac screen so they appear on screen the same way they are arranged on the desk.
  • Click Done.
