Issue/Question

How do I login to the MacOs computers with my Macomb Community College account?

Environment

  • MacOs

Resolution

MacOS computers will no longer present the standard macOS login window. Instead, you will see something like this:

  • To sign in, use your full Macomb email address. You will then be prompted to input your Macomb password.
  • Next, you will be required to complete authentication via one of your configured Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) methods.
    • Note: You may be asked to log in a second time. This helps sync your Mac’s local account with your Macomb account, so your password stays up to date.

Network Connection

Because this login uses cloud authentication, your Mac must be connected to the internet

  • For desktops – all college-owned macOS desktops are deployed with a wired ethernet connection. No further action is required – just log in.
  • For laptops:
    • On-campus - All college-owned macOS laptops are configured with the mSecure wireless network. This should connect automatically on startup. If you’re on campus, you should be able to log in without making any changes.
    • Off-campus – If your laptop is not already configured to connect to your home or other WiFi network, you can select an available WiFi network from the login window.
      • 1. Click the WiFi icon (top-right of login screen)
      • 2. Select a network
      • 3. Click "Join"
      • 4. Enter WiFi password if prompted
