How can I automatically delete emails older than one year?

Environment

  • Outlook
  • Office 365

Resolution

  • Open Outlook.
  • Right-click on the folder you wish to archive.
  • Select Properties

  • Select the AutoArchive tab.

  • Click the radio button next to Archive this folder using these settings.
  • Change Clean out items older than to 12 months
  • Click the radio button next to Permanently delete old items
  • Click Apply
  • Click OK

 Note: This process can be done on any folder in the mailbox just by right-clicking on the folder that needs to have the auto-archiving feature turned on.
