How do I delete an email address from my auto-complete list?

This may need to be done if you have previously sent to an email address that is incorrect.
Note: If you cannot delete an entry, then either the address is coming from the Global Address List (GAL) or from your personal Contacts. You cannot delete the entries from the GAL, but you can delete/update entries within your personal Contacts (e.g. People).
Note: Your auto-complete list is not backed up. If you delete an entry from the auto-complete list, there is no way to recover it except by typing in the email address again.
Resolution
Method 1: Remove a single email address
- Open Outlook.
- Open a New Email.
- Start typing in the email address you want to clear out.
- Click the X next to the name.
Method 2: Remove all Auto-Complete email addresses
- Open Outlook.
- Click File.
- Click Options from the left-hand side.
- Click the Mail option.
- Scroll down to find Send Messages options.
- Click Empty Auto-Complete List.
