Using ShareLink in a Conference Room

How do I use ShareLink in the conference room?

Environment

• On-Campus conference room
• ShareLink

Additional Details

There are two methods to connect via ShareLink. You can connect with a web browser or if you have a Macomb issued computer you can use ShareLink software that is already installed on your machine. If you have a Macomb issued computer and it doesn't ShareLink available you can download it through the software center. Instructions on how to access the software center are available to the right. 

Resolution

In the conference room, on the TV screen, you will see the following screen if ShareLink is available.

Method 1: Connecting via web browser:

• Open a web browser on your computer.
• In the address bar, type in the IP address that is displayed on the TV on the bottom left.
• Press Enter.
• You will be brought to the ShareLInk page, select Windows.

• Run the file (table below shows how to run the file for Chrome or Edge/Internet Explorer)

• On the pop-up that appears, select Yes.
  • If you select No, you will not be able to run the software to use ShareLink.

• Enter the Code; found on the TV in the bottom right.
• Click Connect.

• Press the Play button. 

Method 2 - Connecting via ShareLink software on a Macomb Issued Laptop:

• In the search bar, search ShareLink.

• On the pop-up that appears, select Yes.
  • If you select No, you will not be able to run the software to use ShareLink.

• Select Manual on the Receiver box.

• Enter the IP Address found on the left side of the TV in the room.
• Enter the Code found on the right side of the TV in the room.
• Click Connect.

• Press the Play button. 

To stop displaying your screen:

• Press the Stop button.

 Note: To show more than one screen at a time (up to 4 computers) use the drop down to select which of the four screens you want to display in.
