How to Access a Remote Desktop using the RD Gateway

Issue/Question

I need to access a remote Desktop.

Environment

• Non-MCC owned devices
• Authorized MCC Vendor Account
• Windows

Resolution

• Download and/or save the <DesktopName>.rdp file that was provided.
• Double click on the file <DesktopName>.rdp. A new window will appear.
• Click Connect (You may also check "Don't ask me again for connections to this computer" to suppress this message in the future)

• Enter your provided User Name and Password in the Windows Security window
• Click OK.

• Click Yes on the Certificate window. (You may also check "Don't ask me again for connections to this computer" to suppress this message in the future)

• Your remote session will open in Full Screen and a blue bar at the top will appear with the Desktop name along with the minimize and close buttons. Click OK to the Access Notice to finish the login process. (If it is the first time logging in the user profile will take a while to build before a desktop will show.)

• The desktop should appear and you should be finished logging in. 

• Be sure to log off the Desktop when finished.
