How do I access VPN on the new version of GlobalProtect?
Environment
- GlobalProtect
- Macomb Issued Device
Resolution
Method 1: Launch From System Tray
- Select ^ next in the system tray.
- Click the GlobalProtect icon (gray globe with red x if disconnected and blue globe if connected) in the menu.
Method 2: Launch from Start Menu
- Search for GlobalProtect on the bottom left in the search box.
- In the bottom right, the box for GlobalProtect will appear.
- If asking for portal type in gp.macomb.edu.
- Click Connect.
- This message will appear. Wait for the MFA Authentication window to open.
- Login to MFA and select a MFA method.
- Follow the instructions for MFA that is given when authenticating. Depending on which method you select or is your default is how you will verify. For example: If you select text message you will receive a text code or if you select authenticator app you will receive an approval box in the authenticator app.
- VPN will attempt to connect after MFA is provided by the user.
- Once connected you will see the following.
Note: To disconnect from VPN select Disconnect on the GlobalProtect box.
- This message may come up on your screen. You can exit out of it.
