How do I access the Canvas Faculty Resources?

Section Course
A Section Course is the online classroom where students are populated and learn by interacting with each other, the instructor, and the content. Submit a Section Course request form for each section you need on Canvas every semester. Section Courses open on the official course start date, however, a section may be opened early if requested. Faculty members are responsible for accessible content.

Master Course
Master Courses are used to develop course content for later use in a Section Course. Master Courses are copied into sections by submitting a Section Course request form. Students do not have access to Master Courses.

  • Personal Master: A Personal Master Course is a course designed, developed, and continually improved by a faculty member. Faculty members are responsible for updating content in their own Master Courses.

  • Departmental Master: A Departmental Master Course is a course designed, developed, and continually improved by a department. Departments are responsible for updating content.

Publisher Resources (Cartridge)
A Publisher Resources Course contains academic publisher content, such as presentation slides and test banks, to import into master or section courses. Submit a Publisher Resources form to create a new Publisher Resources Course. To be added to an existing Publisher Resources Course, email onlinesupport@macomb.edu with your user ID and the resources you need to access.

Teaching Assistant (TA) or Secondary Instructor
Datatel assigned instructors may add a Canvas trained Teaching Assistant (TA) or Secondary instructor to their course. To request a TA or new instructor, click on the TA / 2nd Instructor link above

Method 1: Use Direct Link

Click the following to fill out form (s): Access to Canvas Faculty Resources

  • Faculty can click on the tab at the top based on which course they would like to submit the form ( Section/Mater course form, Publisher Resources etc.)

 Note: You may be prompted to login with your Macomb network credentials. 

 

Method 2: Faculty Center in Canvas

  • Login to Canvas.
  • Go to the Faculty Center.
  • Click Course Request Forms.

  • Click on Submit the Course Request Form.

  • Faculty can click on the tab at the top based on which course they would like to submit the form ( Section/Mater course form, Publisher Resources etc.)

 Note: You may be prompted to login with your Macomb network credentials.
