How to Locate your MAC Address on a Phone

Issue/Question

I want to locate the MAC address on a Cisco 8xxx series phone

Environment

  • Cisco 8xxx series phones

Resolution

If your phone is receiving power, please skip the first step!

If your phone has a blank screen and will not power on, your MAC address can be found on the underside of your phone.

  • Flip the phone over, as shown in the picture below, and locate the MAC address on the right hand side.

So your phone is receiving power; please follow these steps to obtain your MAC address:

  • Does your phone look like this? If so, please locate and press the settings button, found in the bottom left corner

  • Now on your screen, please locate and select the tile “Admin Settings” (Usually Option 5), using the arrows and circular button found right below the screen.

  • On the following screen select the first option for “Ethernet setup”

  • On this final screen, item number 3 will be your MAC address
