How to Reset/Reboot Cisco Desk Phone

Issue/Question

I want to reset my Cisco desk phone

Environment

  • Cisco Desk Phones
  • On-campus

Resolution

  • Unplug the Ethernet cable from the network port
  • Wait 30 seconds
  • Plug the cable back in

Cisco phone (79xx series):

  • The cable you need to re-seat is the one plugged into the 10/100 SW port. In the image above, you can see that the 10/100 SW port is the one with a cable plugged into it.

 

Cisco phone (88xx series):

The cable you need to re-seat is the one plugged into the network port. In the image above, you can see that the network port is the one with a cable plugged into it.
