I forgot the password for my MyMacomb account, how do I reset my password?

Additional Details
If you are a student accessing your account for the first time, you will need access to both the email inbox, and phone number that you submitted on your Macomb Community College registration form to complete this process. If you do not have access to either of these, please contact Student Tech Support to update your password reset contact methods.
Resolution
Method 1:
- Navigate to the website my.macomb.edu.
- On the sign in page, click the 'Forgot My Password' link.
- When prompted to enter a email or username, enter your Macomb Community College email address.
- Note: If you do not know your Macomb Community College email address or never recieved it, please use the Macomb Email Address Lookup tool.
- If you use the tool, please note, you will need to enter the personal email address you provided the College during the admissions process.
- If you no longer have access to that personal email address, please contact Student Technical Support.
- Then, enter the characters shown in the CAPTCHA to prove you are not a robot.
- Note: The letters in the CAPTCHA are case sensitive, if you think any of them are capitalized, they most likely are.
- If you are unable to read the characters, you can click the
icon to the right of the CAPTCHA to receive a new set of characters.
- If you enter the characters and they are incorrect, a new set of characters will be produced for you to try again. Keep trying until you can proceed
- Click the Next button to continue.

- Select whichever verification method you would like to complete first.
- An explanation of the information each verification will ask for is as follows:
- Enter a code from my authenticator app - You will be instructed to open the Microsoft Authenticator app to retrieve a one-time code and enter in in the box. To find the one-time code, tap your Macomb Community College account in the Microsoft Authenticator app.
- Approve a notification on my authenticator app - You will receive a notification to the Microsoft Authenticator application on your mobile phone to approve the request.
- Alternate email - You will be prompted to enter your alternate email (not Macomb email address), in which you will receive an email with a verification code and be required to retrieve said code and enter it in the box.
- Text my mobile phone - You will be prompted to enter your mobile phone number, in which you will receive a text message with a verification code and be required to retrieve said code and enter it in the box.
- Call my mobile phone - You will be prompted to enter your mobile phone number, in which you will receive a phone call. When called, press the pound sign (#) on your keypad to verify.
- Answer my security questions - You will be prompted to answer the security questions you created during the Self-Service Password Reset setup.
Note: You may not be presented with all the methods that are set up in the screenshot below. The methods presented to you are dependent on what you configured with your account.

- Select whichever verification method you would like to complete second. The first method you used is no longer available during this session.

- Next, create a new password and enter it in the 'Enter new password' box. Additionally, enter the same password into the 'Confirm new password' box.
- Note: The new password must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 12 characters in length.
- Must contain at least one uppercase letter.
- Must include at least one lowercase letter.
- Must comprise at least one number or special character.
- Avoid including easily guessable information such as your name, date of birth, etc.
- Must not resemble any of your previous passwords.
- When done, click the Finish button.

- When the confirmation appears that the password has been reset, click the 'Click here' link to be redirected back to the my.macomb.edu login page to sign in.

Method 2:
- Navigate to the website my.macomb.edu.
- On the sign in page, click the 'Can't access your account?' link.

- If prompted, select the 'Work or school account' button.

- When prompted to enter a email or username, enter your Macomb Community College email address.
- Note: If you do not know your Macomb Community College email address or never recieved it, please use the Macomb Email Address Lookup tool.
- If you use the tool, please note, you will need to enter the personal email address you provided the College during the admissions process.
- If you no longer have access to that personal email address, please contact Student Technical Support.
