How to Reset your Password Using SSPR on a College Issued PC

Issue/Question

How can I change my password if I cannot log into my college-issued PC?

 Note: If on-ground/connected to the network it could take up to 20 minutes to sync between the network and your computer. If off-ground you will not be able to sync the new password to your computer until you come back on campus or connect to the network. 

Environment

  • SSPR
  • College Issued Device

Resolution

  • On the login screen of the computer select Sign-in options.

  • Select the Key option.

  • Select Reset password.

  • You will be prompted to enter your email address.
  • Click Next.

  • Select the drop-down to pick the method you want to verify your account. The methods available will be based on the methods you have set up in SSPR (Self-Service Password Reset). Follow the instructions to verify your account. You may be requested to approve the notification in the app or get a code and provide it on the screen. 
  • Click Next.

  • Once you have completed verifying your account you will be prompted to set a new password. 
    • Password must be 12 characters
    • Password cannot contain the user name
    • Must contain characters from three of the four following categories: 
      • Uppercase letters  
      • Lowercase letters  
      • Number (0 through 9) 
      • Non-alphanumeric characters (special characters): a space and (~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/)  
  • Click Next.
