My computer is giving me an error message that says my Windows license is about to expire.

Resolution
This is happening because your PC has not been connected to the college network for Windows to verify its license. The computer needs to check in with the network every 180 days. Please connect to the VPN so that Windows can do so. Once you connect to VPN it can take up to 4 hours before it will check again to verify the license. So please keep your computer connected to VPN for longer than 4 hours. Here is a link with instructions for connecting to the vpn:
