Activating your Macomb Student Account

How do I activate my student account?

Resolution

Receiving your activation email

  • When your My Macomb account is ready for use, you will receive an email from studenttechsupport@macomb.edu with the subject **Activate our Macomb Community College Electronic Account**. Below is an example of the email you will receive. 

Set a Password

  • When prompted, enter your Temporary Access Pass.
  • Click Sign in.

  • On the Change password page:
    • Enter your Temporary Access Pass into the Old Password field.
    • Choose a new password and enter it in both the Create New Password and Confirm New Password field.
    • Click Submit.
  • You will be taken to the Profile page next.

 Note: Please choose a password that is at least 12 characters long, is easy for you to remember, and hard for someone else to guess.

Enroll in Additional Verification Options

In addition to a password, students will occasionally be prompted to further verify their identity by using one of several additional verification options. 

  • These options can be found by visiting the What Verification Options are Available page.
  • Students must choose at least 1 strong verification method and two total verification methods.
  • These methods may also be used to reset a forgotten password. 
  • On the Profile page, click on Edit Security Info.

  • On the Security Info Page, click on Add sign-in Method to enroll in a verification method.

  • Repeat this process until you have at least two verification methods.
  • There are knowledge base articles available for each verification method:
  •  If you do not enroll in two verification methods at this time, you will be prompted to do so the next time you logon. 
  •  Once you have at least 1 strong verification method and 2 total verification methods please click on Sign out of Everywhere at the bottom of the Security Info page. 

  • Signing out will give you an opportunity to test your authentication methods. 
  • If you would like to return to this page in the future or change the methods you have enrolled you may do so by vising https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info
